Daniel García Piñeros

Managing Partner

Daniel García, is the firm’s managing partner. Daniel has more than 20 years of experience advising local and foreign clients. He leads the corporate law area of the firm, which counsels local and foreign clients in M&A transactions, real estate projects and developments, and corporate issues, such as incorporating, reorganizing and liquidating corporations; he counsels in telecommunications and intellectual property matters, and has participated in the structuring and sale of energy projects in Colombia. Daniel also advises Colombian families in asset planning and successions.

Daniel is founding partner of Gamboa, García & Cardona Abogados, founding partner of DG&C Abogados and De La Rosa & García Abogados. Daniel was the legal manager of Telmex Colombia S.A., he was senior associate at Posse, Herrera & Ruiz S.A., associate at Ernst & Young Asesores Ltda., and senior and junior associate at Baker & McKenzie. He was assistant of the manager at Agrupación Internacional de Servicios Energéticos – A.I.S.E., as well as paralegal at Gamboa, Chalela, Gamboa, & Useche.

Daniel is a lawyer from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). He holds a Specialization in Financial Legislation from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and holds an LL.M. from Northwestern University (Chicago, USA). He coursed the English Legal System for non-common law lawyers program at the Sidney Sussex College at Cambridge University, UK, and the course American Legal System at George Washington University (Washington D.C., USA).

Daniel is member of the Board of Directors of Automotores Comagro SAS – the representative in Colombia for brands such as Ford, Fiat, Jeep and Chrisler –, member of the Board of Directors of Construcciones Mendebal S.A., and member of the nonprofit organization Grupo Sumo.
